Yeshua, the Savior
Luke 2:10-11
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is the Messiah the Lord.
This message was brought to Mary, the mother of Yeshua, before she became pregnant. Her child would be the Savior of all people, the great King of peace, our King. And He is Messiah. God promised that the Messiah would come as King and would bring eternal peace.
1 John 4:14
We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.
The apostles had seen that Yahweh’s Son would be the Savior of the world. They recognized Him as their promised Savior,
Ok, Yeshua is our Savior. But from what He is saving us? Let us read Romans 6 verse 23. Because there we can find the answer.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of Yahweh is eternal life in the Messiah Yeshua our Lord.
We see here that we have to die because we are sinners. Because we didn’t live the way Yahweh told us to live. We are guilty. We disobeyed Yahweh. Because that is what being a sinner is. Someone who is disobeying Yahweh. Luckely Yahweh gave us a present. At least if we’re in Yeshua then we get that present. This present of Yahweh is eternal life. A life that never ends.
Now we have to know how we get this present of Yahweh. Who doesn’t want to live forever?
Let’s read John 15:5. It’s Yeshua Himself who speaks here:
John 15:5
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
We have to stay in Yeshua like branches on the vine. Branches who are connected to the vine carry fruit.
But if you’re not connected you’re not carry fruit. If a branch is not connected to the vine it will die. Like people who are sinners. They die too.
So you have to carry fruit and stay in connection with Yeshua.
In Galatians 5 verse 22 we read what kind of fruits we have to bear:
Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faithfulness,
I say it again. Love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faithfulness. These are the fruits that Yahweh wants to see. With other words we have to be good instead of to be a sinner.
Yeshua is helping us to bear the good fruits. He only can do that if you have a good and regarly relationship with Him. You have to stay good friends with Him and trust on Him the whole time.
But we have a problem. We already sinned in our life. We already disobeyed Yahweh. And deserve death. Yeshua is also helped us with this one. If you acknowledge that you are a sinner and you know that you need to be saved. You only have to ask Yeshua to help you. And your sins are forgiven. Because Yeshua took your punishment. He died instead of you for your sins. He died on the cross so that Yahweh will be merciful on you. Yahweh is not thinking of your sins anymore. You can now live with Yeshua and start to live in obedience to Yahweh. And get eternal life.
Let us read the words of Peter:
1 Peter 2:24
and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.
Yeshua carried our sins in His body when He was crucified. And because of that we’re no longer living in sins, but we live a righteous life.
And we end with Hebrews 9:
Hebrews 9:22
And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Yeshua blood was shed on the cross. That’s why we get forgiveness. We are cleansed with His blood.
Yeshua saved us on 3 ways:
1 He took the punishment we deserved by dying on the cross.
2 He made it possible that we got forgiveness from Yahweh because His blood was shed.
3 He helps us to do good when we have a good and strong relationship with Him. When we’re connected with Him.
This way He helps to get eternal life.
